With a little help it is a GREAT solution for carpal tunnel and wrist pain,
1. To make it 10x more ergonomic, place a wedge with a 30 degree incline under it to make it the most natural wrist angle and keep you from resting any weight on the nerves in your wrist. Experiment with different angles to find the best for you personally. I trimmed a chunk of stiff foam from some laptop packaging material, see the attached photos. This has been a HUGE benefit for my wrists and in combination with other ergonomic tweaks to my setup and regular stretching and soft tissue work has left me pain-free for some time now.
2. You’ll need to clean the dust and lint from the rollers and optical sensor under the ball once a week, it takes seconds but will keep the trackball nice and responsive.

|Works great very little lag, Good for day to day use maybe not so much for gaming.,
I broke down and bought the wireless version, “Logitech Wireless Trackball M570”; I was very disappointed in the response as it lagged very bad. I also own a wired model and saw that it had one significant design difference, the trackball in the wired model is red with black dots all over it. The M570 has a solid blue ball. I swapped the balls around and found that the red ball with dots worked well in my new mouse so I took a sharpie and put little dots all over my new blue trackball ball. Now it functions as good as the wired one but with the benefit of no wires. So I recommend that you save yourself a couple hundred dollars and buy one of these and just place dots on the ball. I would give a 5 star but I had to modify the trackball to get it to work as desired. So I say “Just Add Dots”. UPDATE: The sharpie dots wear off and clog up the roller bearings that the ball rides on but all that is easily cleaned up with a cotton ball and light alcohol. Once the dots wore off I did not bother putting them back and I have not notices much difference in the performance. I still exhibits a little lag but nothing extreme and unless you are using it for gaming it should work fine for general every day navigation and PC work. BTW I replaced my MAC mouse with one and love it.

|Yes, I really submitted this review with my big toe,
–This is a light weight, cheap feeling tack ball. It serves its purpose with some level of competence, but is no competitor to the Trackman and other quality trackballs.
–The buttons and wheel have the feel of cheap mouses that are pre-packaged with towers, and are immediately shoved in the darkest corner of a desk drawer.
–The ball is very light, and although smooth, it’s a thumb-ball. This is a major point of contention for me, so I feel that it bears special attention in the hopes that somebody who has leverage at Logitech or some shake-it-up device manufacturer will realize, for once and for all, that
***The Thumb is Great for Grasping Bananas, but NOT for Fine Motor Control or Precise Movements***
Millions of years of evolution and specialization, bucked for the thumball. Yes, you will adapt to using your thumb, but you could just as easily use more dexterous appendages such as your elbow or your big toe.
In an effort to find nice things to say about this trackball so that Logitech will continue to at least make it, the colors are very trendy, the batteries last a long time, the Bluetooth dongle is discreet (although it would be absolutely fantastic if some MBA could earn his keep and get the engineers to put a blue LED in it), and there is a very nice finger rest to the left of the left click button. Of the non-mouse options out there, this thumbball is the best of the options out there, which is kinda like saying that “Milwaukee’s Best”.
