Great Budget AGP Card for the Money,
This card is perfect for people with old PCs that do not have PCI-e slots and for those that want a quiet computer. As many of you can tell, the card is not really cannot be called “fast” by today’s standard since the Geforce 6200 was originally designed for budget minded consumers, and it is very hard to be overclocked (it’s not build for OC). The card runs completely silent because I cannot hear any additional noise in my computer which only has 1 single fan. Considering it only has a heat sink, it does not run very hot. It idles around 52 Celsius and jumps to around 73 when I play graphics intense games like Need for Speed Carbon and Fable the Lost Chapter. With this card, I am able to play NFSC on medium settings and Fable on high. Photo also renders a lot faster on Photoshop. You can always get a high quality vga fan (a lot different from the plastic ones you get on cheap video cards) online for around 10 dollars if you think your card is running a bit too hot. From what I read, people at Nvidia said you do not have to worry about it as long as the temperature of the card is below 130 (personally I do not believe it, anything above 90 is pretty bad).
Again, I believe all of you who are considering buying this card are not serious gamers. If you want to play the new games on highest settings, go with a PCI-e Geforce 8800 Ultra factory OC (DirectX 10 is the future!). If you don’t have a PCI-e slot, go get a PC with the slot because there is no point of buying a fast AGP card (it’s expensive and still not as fast as a PCI-e card). This card is really for people who want to upgrade their old PCs since most of the old computers do not have powerful Power Supply Units. Originally, I was going to buy a faster Geforce card but the PSU on my computer is not powerful enough to power any of the faster cards. With a minimum 250 W power supply, I believe this card can run on almost every PC made in the past 4-5 years (but seriously, other than me, who’s still using a PC that’s 4 years old?). It really makes a HUGE difference if you are upgrading from on-board graphics. The reason why I only give it a 4 is because every time after recover from sleep mode, the card tends to freeze up a bit while I play games. I have not been able to figure out the reason why, and it seems like a few other people also have the same problem as me. After all, I hope this card can just go a little bit faster. But for the money I paid, this really is a great card for the value.
Sorry for my bad English. This is the first review that I’ve ever written. It’s a quite late in the night so I decide not to proofread it. Just leave me a comment if you have any questions. Thanks.

|Absolutely amazing card for the price!,
At first, I was thrown off by the low price, I wondered how well the card would work. But the Amazon reviews swayed me (along with a rebate) and I purchased the card. Everything about this card impressed me. I plugged the card in, booted right into Windows XP with no safe mode issues. I put the driver CD in, installed the software, the system rebooted, and it worked. I have had a lot of experience with add-on cards, and this was by far the easiest PlugNPlay experience I have ever had. I almost couldn’t believe it was that simple.
Photoshop runs 10 times better with this card (seriously), and when I put in SimCity 4 (an older game admittedly, but still), I couldn’t believe how I’d gotten along without this card. I maxed out the resolution, all texture settings, and the game ran without so much as a hiccup. This card supports Direct X 9 and the Shader 3.0 model, so it will run almost every game on the market. Not bad when you can plug it into a 3-year-old machine, like mine.
Also, for anyone wondering whether or not you can use this 8x AGP card in your older 4x AGP slot, you CAN. The video software will automatically read your system information and set the card to the appropriate BUS speed.
So again, if you are a hardcore gamer who wants the latest and greatest games coming up, you might want to consider a card with faster acceleration and more memory. If you are looking for an inexpensive upgrade for an older machine that will allow you to run almost any game on the market right now, this card cannot be beat.

|Great graphics card,
Installation of the card was relatively simple. Took the normal 30 minutes from start to finish. It may of been simplier for me as I was upgrading from an NVidia based card to another NVidia based card Make sure to download the updated NVidia drivers from NVidia’s site. The installation of the updated drivers is quick and painless.
This package comes with an S-Video cable, so you can go to the television, which is always a nice option. Why play a game on a small television when you can do it on a large television? Also has a DVI connector too.
So far, I’m happy with this card, for what I want from it. It may not be up to snuff for today’s applications, but if you are looking at running older games, this inexpensive card is a great option!
