I had this game on my xbox. I was expecting it to be a little different from console to console which it is. Also it’s a little challenging to get past some of the levels and I’m saying that as a twenty year old. So if you have a kid who gets frustrated easily this probably would not be the right game to get them. It’s fantastic for any one who loves the avengers or super hero’s though. after you’ve unlocked certain super hero’s you can go back and replay the levels you’ve defeated with different hero’s and see what else those levels have to offer. Great game. I have it on the ds btw.

Gave as an Easter gift to my daughter in her Easter basket. She loves marvel and really liked this game. She enjoyed playing it for hours. Great game for 10 years old.

What happened here??, February 23, 2014
This review is from: Lego Marvel Super Heroes: Universe in Peril – Nintendo DS (Video Game)
Ever since its debut, the Lego line of games has always offered fun puzzle-platforming that breathed new life to both Legos and the franchises they touched. Whether they be on a console or handheld, fans were usually in for a good time.
So who thought it was a good idea to change up the formula for the handheld lineup of Lego titles into something so extremely stripped down?!

Instead of being the puzzle-platforming goodness we’ve come to expect, Lego Marvel: Universe in Peril is an isometric psuedo-3D beat ’em up. Yeah, sure, there’s still Lego pieces to build in certain little areas, but they’re not for puzzle solving! Pretty much throughout the adventure, you’ll just be bashing down enemies and collecting cogs in very small environments. The concept does seem sound on its own, but to slap the Lego branding on it? Thanks for ruining our high expectations, Traveler’s Tales.

Worse, there will indeed be times where you’ll have to replay levels to obtain achievements that are REQUIRED TO MOVE ON. What a stupid design choice, and just to make the game last longer in length. I would’ve actually probably have given this another star if these achievements were absent or at least optional. Unfortunately, it’s here and accounted for, and it hampers my experience and enjoyment with the game.

Overall, if you want a good Lego game, play pretty much anything else. Heck, play the console version of Lego Marvel, or the previous handheld installment, Lego Batman 2. This one is Disappointment with a capital D.

UPDATE: Probably another thing that bothers me a lot here is that this DS version took an extra four months to release than the 3DS/Vita edition. What took this so long to port over? HOW could this have taken long to port over? Why was nothing fixed?
