Bought this game for our 7 year old grandson to play when he comes to visit. He loves it and he could play it for hours if we let him. And, if there are adults in the house while he is playing everyone wants to play the game. My sister who is not one to play games had fun playing this one. The game said we would need the camera eye and hand held motion controller to play it but it works just fine without these. The regular controller that come with the PS3 are all you need. No need for the extra expense.

A coworker used to let our six-year old son play Angry Birds on her smart phone whenever he would see her. It got to the point that he’d start asking for a hand held gaming device for his birthday so he could play it all the time. In lieu of spending a couple hundred dollars, we opted to buy this PS3 game instead.

The disc comes with three versions of Angry Birds and our son loves it. He also enjoys seeing the graphics while playing on a large TV screen rather than a small gaming device screen.

The game only uses two control buttons on the PS3 controller, so it’s easy for younger players to operate — especially if it’s their first time using the PS3 as was the case with our son. It’s also a fun, easy game to learn. After a while, he learned that there is actually strategy involved with each level. It’s not just hurling your birds though the air in the hopes of possibly hitting something.

I would recommend this to parents with younger kids as a way to break them into the PS3 gaming world. But be careful, we found it to be addicting to us parents too!

As a longtime fan of the game on multiple platforms, I’m happy to say that this is a really great port of the game. Once you get over the initial oddity in controls you’ll be right back to where you were when playing it on PC, Android, or iOS. There are however some things that bother me about the game. First of all the volume.. it’s loud VERY loud. Even if you adjust it via the settings the music and effects are still almost unbearably loud with my tv at normal volume (11 or 12). If I turn down everything to the first or 2nd notch under settings it’s ok but still a bit on the loud side. Any other game on PS3 sounds fine at this volume as does other media such as music or movies. That aside even after you have set your volume preferences they’re pointless on startup. The game starts at full volume until you press the start button to get past the main menu then it throttles down. I usually just have to mute my tv when I start the game otherwise it’ll startle me from the other room when I run to get a snack after inserting the disc. Aside from the volume the credits are crazy long, this isn’t super important but anyone who’s played the original will understand why I mention it. I was scrolling for a good 3 minutes. Anyway back to the game itself. All the promised levels are here and more. The gameplay is a tad different but still fun and the layout of everything as decent enough. I don’t like that I can’t scroll backwards through the chapter select screen but it has always been like that so not really an issue. As others have mentioned price is a factor here.. I purchased the game for 19.99$ around the time of amazon’s black friday sale. 20 bucks for 3 angry birds games is perfect imho. Now that the price has gone back up you may want to wait for a sale or buy it used. There is no DLC code included nor is there any available at this time so buying it used/like new won’t hurt ya. I very much look forward to DLC possibly being added in the future so that I can play Space and possibly Star Wars, but I’m not going to hold my breath in the meantime incase it never happens. Anyway I need to go play now before my lunch is over. :p
