This is an upgrade from a GTX 560 and I can’t be any more pleased. I’ve done my research and compared to the 960, isn’t worth the extra cost at what seemed to be a 5-10 fps increase across multiple games. That is my opinion.
UPDATE 11/15/15: After Fallout 4 was released I am able to everything on Ultra at 1080p, expect godrays (high) at around 40-60 FPS. The dips only being in certain areas of the game. Of which I can’t tell if its due to poor optimization or incompatibilities of the card. Regardless, it is totally playable provided your CPU you is similar to mine listed below with at least 8GB of ram. I was previously playing CS:GO , Elite Dangerous, Skyrim, MGSV, and Killing Floor 2 at 1920 x 1080 on mostly medium settings, with fps at about 40-50~. Since I have upgraded I been maxing out everything I’ve been throwing at it at 120+ fps. I don’t have a ton of money invested in my PC and I think this card is targeted to those who want to run games at high settings thats currently running on an older card such as the 560. I am still happy to say I am very Happy with the outcome of the GTX 950. Since installing this beauty I have heavily modded my Fallout 3,4 and Skyrim games and only once in a blue moon do I crash to desktop but I do not think this has anything to do with the GTX 950, it is just me testing my limits with my Rig. Again this was my first time upgrading a pc and after doing the necessary research I was easily able to make the changes I wanted. My other upgrades to make my pc capable to smoothly play games are: Thermaltake – 430W TR2 ATX Power Supply & 8 more gb of Ram. (total 16 gb ram) My rig is HP Pavillion 500-054 ___________________________________ I am pretty new to doing this type of upgrade to a pc but I love tinkering with computers since ive basically oven up on console gaming. I was playing fallout 3 and was able to run on medium or high settings but I really wanted to play fallout 4.

I bought this to play blizzard games, stwor, and stuff like that. I installed it, proceeded to hook it up to my 144hz monitor via gold plated display port and fired it up. Downloaded Evga software and updated drivers, restarted pc and tunned wow to start testing:
Here are my results: Here is my build: So overall, if you want to play mmos such as wow, lol, and all that stuff. Don’t spend 650$ on a gtx980 ti, this will be more than enough to run ultra at 1080. Hope it helps! |

Also, according to an article by techpowerup if you have an older motherboard (like mine) and only have a PCI-express 1.0 – 1.1 even though this card is a higher version it is backwards compatible and this card will still work perfectly fine with only a performance loss of about 1-2% fps,and that only being very meaningful if you SLI.

I am pretty new to doing this type of upgrade to a pc but I love tinkering with computers since ive basically oven up on console gaming. I was playing fallout 3 and was able to run on medium or high settings but I really wanted to play fallout 4.
I knew right away it would work on my system but not good enough for me to enjoy so I spent some time researching graphics cards and reading reviews and the gtx 950 was n my heart over.
Now once I got it and installed it (which was very easy). I went to turn the pc on and realized my power supply didn’t have a 6 pin connector. So I rant I Best Buy just to get one that would do the job.
After all the fuss I finally got it installed and the drivers updated and loaded fallout 4 when my lower expectations were lifted through the roof!! My system automatically detected the video settings at ultra!! Let me tell you! I was blown away by how it looked, ran and played. The fan is even really quiet, now in the next few days I will get into understanding more of the technical jargon. But I can’t say enough how impressed I am and how happy I am that I purchased this graphics card!!! I very highly recommend it to anyone who wants amazing graphics at a amazing price!
