Planetside 2 IS balanced!, July 30, 2015

Alright, because I don’t see ANY other really descriptive reviews that make sense on the current version of the game. Let me explain.

Planetside 2 is a free roaming FPS in where you can fly, walk, or just drive to any area on one of 4 giant maps. For all factions there are 215 weapons (Approx) and 84 for one faction alone (Approx) Anything that you can "Buy" is purely for convenience, nothing more. You can go buy a weapon instantly with RL (Real life) currency, or you can save up with In game currency and buy it the exact same way. Though most people who have played the game much longer such as myself to have a larger selection, nothing will give me an actual advantage over you because almost all weapons that are new are only for different situations, not better than eachother. For instance a snipe rifle isn’t as good as a shotgun CQC (close quarters combat) Though there is only one downside to the game, it is pretty demanding of good hardware. So be sure to check out the "Minimum requirements" Before you get hyped!

In conclusion: Give the game a try for yourself! Remember if you have any problems don’t just give it one star, send a support ticket and get help!

Thank you for taking my review into consideration!

I didn’t think this game would deliver much as a free to play, but I was wrong!

Giant "continent" maps with hundreds to thousands of people playing at once. You need vehicles to get from one place to another.

Starting out, you die A LOT, which is fair, you’re starting out and you should be low on the totem pole.

It is kinda hard to use the air vehicles, I haven’t gotten the hang of them yet because they are really expensive points-wise and I crash them more often than being shot down. The first person view in vehicles and the low flying altitude is a little claustrophobic. In fact, the vehicle mechanics is the only reason why I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5.

Overall, I am very impressed with this game and I would love to see it have a space expansion, or at least an airspace expansion so air vehicles can get a better perspective and have more time to maneuver.

Best game in the shooter genre hands down, October 1, 2015
This review is from: PlanetSide 2 [Download] (Software Download)
People rating the game 1 star either don’t like strategy and depth, or never put the effort into understanding how to play the game. You can have all the experience in the world, but if you’ve never been part of an MMOFPS genre before then you’re going to 100% be required to suffer trial and error. Common complaints – people can’t find the action. The hex map tells you how many friendlies and enemies are in that area. You can hit U to redeploy and go anywhere your faction has control of. You can hit I and deploy to instant action, which will take you to where you’re most needed for backup. So you have base spawn and orbital drops.

You can join and leave squads at will, and the community is the best. They’ll teach you everything you need to know. Youtube has tutorials for the rest, and the net has plenty of info about which guns are the best to buy. You can test them out first in the practice range all you want. There’s also attachments, and several types of infantry with different abilities.

There’s just so much stuff in the game that can’t be bought, you have to get XP to unlock it. It keeps things interesting and gives you new things to do.

2,000, possibly 3,000 IDR, can fit onto a single server at any given time, with 4 continents (one always be locked), each having over 20 hexes. Relatively the game is bigger than my tri-city area, that’s how huge it is. Hundreds of people can be fighting for territory in just a single hex.

The infiltrator gets different kinds of cloaks, motion detectors, and can use EMP grenades. All can use regular grenades. The engineer repairs vehicles and Max suits, and base turrets. The medic can heal and revive. Light Assault has different kinds of jet packs. Heavy Assault has an extra overshield that can be activated, and can use vehicle grenades and different kinds of rocket launchers. Max has guns effective against either infantry, vehicle, or aircraft. That is the most common theme of PS2, weapons effective against those 3 things, with some being a mix between anti-infantry and vehicle.

Two types of tank, 4 aircraft, an ATV, dune buggy, and sunderers that carry 11 passengers and can deploy to be a faction-wide spawn point. The sundys can even use invisibility cloaks that deactivate when damaging shots hit the sundy. But there’s much more than that, and each vehicle class can use lots of different abilities.

You can local chat, regional chat to just your faction, or talk to the whole continent and all 3 factions. Your character can talk and ask for all sorts of help by pushing buttons.

It’s impossible to go into length with Amazon’s 500 word limit, but just know the depth of strategy and balance within the game is more than you can possibly imagine. Don’t forget to read the backstory of each faction.
