Silent is reliable and perfect for me,

For his use this card has more than enough power. He uses his computer for email, web surfing, and working with documents in word or running applications like turbo tax. His display is a 37in flat screen tv so the hdmi output is the key connection for him. The large screen helps make his computer use more pleasant with some challenges he is facing with his vision.
I have gotten an older version of this card a few years ago for a client running a graphics system driving an engraver. The old card failed with exploded capacitors and this was a replacement for this old ATI Radeon.which didn’t require changing drivers and was compatible with their engraver software/hardware. It’s running perfectly today.
The older version and current version appear very well made: typical for ASUS. Fit and alignment were perfect which isn’t always the case with low price cards.
Hope this helps someone to get a quiet and capable general purpose video card. It’s been very good to my family and client so I’m giving it 5 stars.

|Beware of false advertising.,
I contacted Amazon (my order was fulfilled by Amazon) about the mistake, and they referred me to Asus. The phone number they gave me was for product support, who referred me to their Escalation Team. I submitted a claim with them and received a reply the next day referring me to the rebate department. I quit there. They’re not going to credit me the $10 difference, or even change the listing.
It’s a decent card for $30. Easy to install. You may have to set the primary display adapter in BIOS / UEFI. Windows 10 detected the card and installed drivers.

|DVI-D connector,
Like others I’ve run across, the hole for installing the little screw next to the HDMI port is misplaced (so you can’t install this screw that is used with the full hgt. bracket). The posts / screws for the DVI-D port appear adequate for holding the bracket onto the card. I am mainly using the card to have a HDMI output for a Core 2 duo machine. The heat sink fits into a very tight, small, low profile machine. I’m using it in a machine with a 280 W PS with no issues thus far, but don’t have any demanding uses for the card or the PC.
