Apple MMGG2LL/A MacBook Air 13.3-Inch Laptop (Intel Core i5, 8GB, 256GB,Mac OS X), Silver

I have used the MacBook Air for the last three years as a middle school teacher. The laptop was a part of our Maine MLTI program for educators and was issued to all teachers for our use throughout the year(s). I immediately fell in love with it because of its incredibly intuitive, powerful, fast and simple user interface. Additionally, it never slowed down over the years and never had a virus or malware issue! As a user of that laptop, it turned a staunch PC person like myself around 180 degrees. I recently retired and I ordered the newest MacBook Air with 8 gigs of ram and the El Capitan operating system from Amazon.com. I just received the laptop and it arrived in pristine condition and was very easy and quick to set up. Another great thing about this laptop is that you can buy an inexpensive Thunderbolt HDMI adapter to hook up to an HDMI monitor and get true HDMI resolution! You can also buy an inexpensive SDXC flash card to increase your drive capacity up to an additional 256 gigs! I believe that this is the best laptop out there today in every way.

I’m pretty happy with this Mac Air. I bought it to replace my old Win8 machine, which took forever to boot though was otherwise an adequate machine. I love the boot time on this, and the solid state storage is quick. Battery life compared to my old machine is unreal. I liked the retina display on the Pro more, but I’m not an artist – I do spreadsheets, text documents and the occasional presentation, so this is fine. Indeed, if you aren’t in a store doing side by side, you may never notice. So for me the speed, light weight and overall capability of this machine make it a great choice. It isn’t an absolute top shelf portable, but it does what I need!

After tons of research, including reading reviews like this, I finally committed to a MacBook Air. Am I happy and satisfied, oh yes, big time! When my windows lap top finally went belly-up, I decided to spend a little extra cash and get something that was not obsolete the day I walked out of the store with it. One of my major concerns was if I could make the jump between such different devices? I’m doing it! Yes there is a learning curve, it is a whole different system, but I am working my way through it. This MacBook Air is perfect for my needs. It is light weight, fast, and exactly what I have always been looking for in a laptop.
