I read the reviews about people buying this under the impression that it was the "new" 3ds xl but received the old version instead.
There are a lot of them that are on the same refurbished page that are NOT the new one. But I did here that square trade sold them with the "new" title but they were indeed the old version. I bought mine from tech venture and it was indeed the latest version of the 3ds xl (with the c stick). It came in mint condition, with a pre-installed 4gb micro sd card, and the AR cards (which I don’t anticipate using). The ONLY discrepancy is that it says this: "What’s in the Box This does NOT have the AC adapter. If it did, I would give it 5 stars. I didn’t expect it, but since it stated that there was one, I docked it a star. Otherwise perfect.

I ordered this refurbished version due to the fact that it’s going to a 7 year old. I figure it will probably end up broken eventually so I’m not going to waste the extra money to buy brand new. Kids don’t care anyways. It got here in a timely manner, it was in the original box with plastic wrap around the outside. I opened it to make sure everything was there, it came with all pieces, it charged, the 3d works great, it plays games, and the device itself looks brand new. I would have have never guessed it was refurbished. I’m giving this 5 stars and I’m going to purchase another one on Monday for my 11 year old.

Got it and the sound didn’t work. Nothing from the speakers, nothing from the headphones.
