This game is really great for the kids, they want to play it all the time and love it.
For me, I feel a bit ripped off. Disney Infinity 1 Starter pack came with the game, base, three characters and 3 play sets, yes 3! Disney infinity 2 comes with the same stuff accept only 1 play set. Why do we only get one? and why is it shorter than any of the three from Infinity 1? Also, if you fork out the money for the Spiderman play set, it is a carbon copy of the Avengers only you fight Symbiotes instead of Ice Creatures. The only other play set is Guardians of the Galaxy. I really hope that the next play sets that come out are related to Pixar or traditional Disney, or this game will seem like even more of a money grab. The Toy Box is great and your kids will spend hours making their own worlds, this is a decent value. 2 stars for the play set 4 stars for the toy box overall just a 3 star game, but they could redeem it with some better play sets later!

A fun game, but there are several things about it that could be improved. (It is my husband and I playing, both 29, no kids) Most of it we expected based on the reviews though. We were disappointed in the graphics, and when playing the main game we had issues with the camera angle not being where we wanted it. It is zoomed in too far and we were starting to get a little motion sick from playing it. We wish that you could use some of the other characters in the main game, but we knew that going in. We haven’t had a chance to mess around with the toybox much, but it looks like it will be a lot of fun. When playing one of the tower games that came with it, the camera angle was much better, so not sure why we had so many issues in the main game. Possibly the 1 vs 2 player thing? (played main game as 2 player and the tower as 1). The toys appear to be a high quality if you are into collecting them. We aren’t really sure what we think of the whole concept of needing to change things out on the base, it is our first game like this and while it is a neat concept, it can get to be a bit of a pain if you aren’t sitting right next to the base and are on a tough level where you keep dying. Overall it is still a fun game and a neat concept and I would buy it again.

I purchased this set after purchasing Disney 3.0 and 1.0 for PS3. This seemed like a good beginning set for 2.0 to build off of and it definitely is. The value for this set is amazing- it comes with a base, game, play set piece, 3 characters, and 2 power disks. From there I can build on with other play sets as I see fit. I love that this set comes with 3 characters, allowing me to play with my boyfriend and switch out a character if one of us dies.
As far as the game itself (that is- the toy box), I’m not going to go into too much detail. The toy box is pretty standard with what you’d see in 1.0 and 3.0. Not as good as 3.0 but better than 1.0 but still basically the same. The marvel play set itself is really enjoyable. The game is challenging, but not impossible (especially with 3 characters to switch between), and it’s also really fun just to fly around the city itself. There are numerous mini games within the city base which allows for other people to play the game without messing up the story itself. The gameplay isn’t up to 3.0 standards but is a leap beyond 1.0. Controls are smoother, there are more abilities, and there’s just more to do within the story itself. I’m definitely happy that I started with this set as my base 2.0 game. It comes with a lot of pieces (power discs, etc) and is easy to just hop right in and play. This is our go to game to play now, even more so than the star wars games! |
