I’ve been a fan of Lego games since the first one, Lego Star Wars, came out years ago. They’ve always had an undeniable charm & wit. This game is no different. In fact, even with the serious voice acting, the game never takes itself seriously. I found myself laughing at most of the jokes even though I’m not the target audience.
My main concern when they announced this game was how much content it would have, since the past Lego Star Wars games have been based on 3 movies at a time. Well, that fear was totally invalid! There are 12 main story levels in the game, and between each of these, you go to hub worlds, such as Jakku or Takodana. These areas are very large and super fun to explore, although you have to wait until you beat the game to change characters at any time. Once you can do that, there are tons of collectibles to find and characters to unlock. As well as the story levels and these hub worlds, there are 6 bonus levels where you get to play as characters such as Lor San Tekka (the old man who gives Poe the piece of the map), Admiral Akbar, and other surprises. I’ve beaten the main story & spent some time exploring, probably with at least 10 hours play time, and I haven’t even done these extra missions yet. I just felt I had to review this game because it is so much fun. Someone already said it for me, but the vehicle sections & the cover shooting are some of my favorite parts to play. They bring variety and are super fun whether playing alone or with someone. My favorite vehicle section was when I got to play as Poe in his black x-wing, shooting down tons of TIEs over the lakes of Takodana. Ultimately, if you are a fan of Lego games, or you want to start getting into them, this game will definitely satisfy you. Tons of content, and the chance to add more content if you want to purchase the season pass, make this game one of the best Lego games in years.

The kids (6 year olds) love the game… But mom and dad hate it due to constant crashing requiring the PS3 to be rebooted. This is the most temperamental Lego game yet, a real let down. I would have thought they’d release a bug free game seeing as how it came out six months after the movie debut. I’m glad I only paid for it. Here’s hoping they release an update or two.

A little buggy in the game play. Still good fun. Expect some difficulty with the flying. Also as you progress extra missions will appear on each planet so check back periodically. The biggest free play issue is admiral ackbar which you only get on one of those extra missions. The first patch is out but you might want to consider waiting on the next one.
