The thing I have been waiting for most since I started playing MLB the Show on ps4 is complete stats each season of a player’s career. MLB is all about stats and while these games have been amazing one thing I did not like was how even players such as A-Rod who have been playing since the 90s only have their season stats from 2-3 years back. It is really nice to see The Show take their time to improve this by adding full history for each player. This may have not been a big deal for some people but I found this a very nice update to the game.

Great game!, By

This game is great! This is my first experience playing any of The Show games but I absolutely love it. I actually purchased a PS4 just for this game. I was a Playstation guy back in day but had made the switch to Xbox when the 360 came out. As an Xbox One gamer, I was sick and tired of not having a baseball game worth playing. After reading several great reviews of this game I decided to take a chance and purchase a PS4 so I could finally play it for myself and I’m thrilled that I did. The visuals and gameplay are both great. The soundtrack is lacking but that’s a minor issue. I haven’t noticed the commentary getting repetitive like others have said but, again, this is my first Show experience so all of it is new to me.
This game is a ton of fun but it’s also tough. The first few games of my franchise were played on beginner and I was crushing people by a score of like 21-3 every game. So I turned the difficulty up a notch and I’ve only won like 2 of my last 7 games. It’s tough but in a fun way that keeps me coming back for more and trying to get better. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys baseball. It’s a must play!

FINALLY-Something Worth Hundreds Of Hours Of My Time.
I have been gaming since the Commodore and Amiga days back when they said Dos would never survive:-) There was no Internet. A 28K Modem was HOT stuff. Now, with a gaming desktop, every console sold, 2 gaming laptops I game 18+ hours a day, every day since being forced to retired and badly disabled. The past 18 months I have discovered I am beginning to actually prefer console gaming on a 65" Samsung NICE TV over my PC Gaming. Mostly due to setting up my gaming chair 4 feet from that 65" Samsung with a sound system to die for. And die I do, hundreds of times per day:-) And as fun as that can be, it becomes a bit tedious and boring after a certain point. Now enter the Football and baseball games. Bought the latest of both to give this new to ME anyway type of gaming a try. So I can’t go on about all it offers that’s new & different and why it is or isn’t better than the last. I CAN say that this old fart has finally found something I LOVED playing for the first time and for 10 hours straight. I saw only a couple little graphic bugs that I am sure will resolve and no big anyway…I spent my 10 hours simply unable to stop since after so many years on shooters and mindless gaming that it provides that I DO still love, this was random, different and I don’t KNOW what will happen next. It is real time and a good time. I can sit back and relax, enjoy sipping a beer and move on up and literally REL:AX while being excited at the same time. I have NO other game that gives me these simple pleasures and lets me just have a good time, plain & simple. I can grow with it and it is just such a different experience as well as engaging and makes you feel involved far more than all my shooters, action & adventure games. This isn’t so much a "game" experience as it is (for ME) a relaxing "Hobby" type of experience. So again, I can’t and won’t even TRY to even review this from the perspective of the hardcore baseball gamer experience. I just want to toss this out there that THIS game, for me, is a nice change of pace if you are looking for that. I was SO bored. Now I feel like a kid and as a four times wounded in REAL life, blown up old USMC Veteran at age 68? Well I just love that I can kick back, have fun, get excited at the same time and not spill my beer while doing it. Is it better or worse than something else? Don’t know and don’t care. I LOVE it, will spend hundreds and hundreds of hours enjoying it, and every minute will be different than the minute before it with NO end in sight. I waited 68 years for this and am SO glad I gave something different a try. |
