This is really a long Flash tutorial. You could get the same information anywhere for free with very little effort. I do not think this book is worth the price tag, and the title is very misleading. Thankfully, I had the smarts to actually preview the book before buying it and decided it was not at all worth the money.
For starters, there is very little thought put into why you would use Flash on the PSP. The reader might think their games are slow because they suck at programming. That is not actually the case. Flash on the PSP is a browser plug-in and not a native application. The PSP is also very low-powered to begin with due to how old it is and how cheap it was and the fact that it is a portable, handheld device. If you really want to program for the PSP, I recommend you learn C++ and get a softmodded PSP to test on. C++ is a harder language but produces faster applications. There is also an official PlayStation SDK for C++. There is a rather large modding community behind PSP, so finding a softmodded PSP should be fairly easy. Good luck. |
