New Far Cry Awesome, Ignore the Trolls!,

First off I would like to address the problems of trolls on Amazon. All the people who gave this game a one star, I looked at their profile and most if not all are ppl who give everything one star, give Xbox products one star, or are just plain trolls. It’s just annoying when you look at reviews to judge if you want to buy a product and ppl are giving bad reviews for no reason.
Ok I’m off my troll rant. The game is amazing, the graphics are beautiful, and the gameplay is just plain fun. It’s pretty much what you would expect from far cry series with primitive twist. You have to hunt and craft to survive. Also arrows run out quickly and spears and clubs break, so hunting and searching for supplies is a must. I was honestly hesitant to pre-order this game bc I wasnt sure if I would like using primitive weapons. But a couple hours in and I don’t miss modern weapons at all. It’s really satisfying getting headshots with arrows or brutally killing an enemy with a club. I also like the story line and characters so far as well. The only thing I’m not too fond of is this made up language and reading subtitles the whole game. I know they weren’t speaking English in 10,000 bc but in all games we forsake reality for common language. I’m pretty sure they weren’t speaking this jibberish either. But that being the only con I def recommend this game!

If you’re looking for guns, bombs, and general high tech rampaging, this isn’t the game for you.
If, however, you’re looking for a caveman simulator the eschews the drudgery of day to day life and focuses instead on primitive warfare and riding/commanding prehistoric beasts…this game is perfect. Don’t listen to the other reviewers jaded by years of high powered sniper rifles, moronic titles that mash humans and dinosaurs together, and AI enemies that run twords death like lemmings. If you wanna know what it was to be early man; to be constantly hunted, to be forever on the brink of death, to struggle for your every possession or meal, to rage against the darkness with only a sharpened stick and a pointy stone… with a bit of The Beastmaster thrown in for good measure… this. is. your. game. Beautiful scenery, native language(s), hulking beasts, amazing attention to detail, and ultimately, a very real depiction of convergent/divergent human evolution shaped through the hands of one proto-sapien. It’s absolutely everything I ever wished a sandbox game could be. Though it took WAY too long to appear, I can now forgive every complaint I ever lobbed at others for pushing too far into futuristic tech and neglecting the visceral, raw, and terrifying feel of combat and survival in an age when melee was the only way, and every weapon was a precious creation of your own hands. Let your inner caveman out to play, you won’t be sorry.

Strong change of pace that many will find refreshing, By

I wanted to take my time and give you guys my review of the game. I am a die hard shooter fan but also really enjoy games such as Witcher 3. With that said this game despite the negative reviews and trolls is actually a lot of fun. Far cry primal takes a major twist on the franchise that many are very hesitant to embrace. One of the major changed associated with the game include the removal of the modern weapons such as the Ak etc. and instead replace them with bow and arrow spears. They even found a way to incorporate bombs such as the stinger bomb. Which is basically a bee hive grenade which I found very clever. Sure this takes some getting use to, but I don’t understand why people are complaining about this. In an effort to do something different Ubisoft decided to take a chance and go all the way back to the the stone age instead of adding jet packs allowing you to fly across the maps (yeah I’m looking at you call of duty).
The wildlife in the game is really the main focus of the game as you are tasked with taming many of the now extinct animals. The game has some similarities to Witcher 3. Such as using hunter vision much like you would use Witcher senses to locate objectives or track an animal. If you really enjoyed Witcher then I feel you will really like this game. In all honesty I found some of the quest in Witcher a bit more fun but Primal is not far behind it. When you are doing base invasion I highly suggest leaving you tamed beast behind as you will end up having to fight your way through most all of them since there is no way to ensure the beast will stay in cover which I feel is a pretty large oversight by Ubisoft but if you don’t mind going in without backups then Stealth invasions are still an option. Crafting and Building can be a bit of a chore. I don’t mind farming for materials most of the time but it seems there is a lot to find and items needed to get what you want done than there needs to be. I can see this being quite painful as the game progresses. One other negative is the subtitles. They are basically broken English. I understand having a fake language created to add authenticity to the game but If you are translating into English they could of done a better job. Overall I am really enjoying the game. Its a very welcomed change of pace from the franchise that seems to offer a plethora of content for the price of the game which is always welcomed. The graphics are outstanding and the gameplay is very smooth. I have not had any problems with glitches or freezing which is nice considering the game just recently launched. If you liked Witcher and are looking for a similar game with lots of content and beautiful scenery then I highly suggest you take a look at Primal. You wont regret it. As I progress further in the game I will ensure that I constantly Update my review to help others get a full insight on what they are paying for. |

Ok now that I have almost finished the game let me add one more con. I was disappointed of the lack of choices in this game. What made me love FC 3&4 was the choice branches and how those choices effected the ending of the game. In primal there is no choice branches. And I’m pretty sure there’s only one ending.

This is the first big series game that has decided to completely ditch the older generation consoles. Doing so allowed the programmers to really focus on bringing quality graphics to the game. Some of the animals will look very similar to the ones you saw in far cry 4, however there will be times that you are looking at the scenery in the distance and will be amazed at the quality of the picture that is rendered using your console.
