Completely Unacceptable One step forward, 10 steps backward, September 10, 2014
This review is from: NHL 15 – Xbox One (Video Game)
I’ve played the game on EA’s early access subscription and its a big disappointment. I would advise waiting for a price cut which will happen real fast. This game lacks a lot of features that have been implemented over the last 5 years and is not worth retail price. You are paying .99 for what is essentially a NHL 16 demo.

Pros-
The graphics are a nice upgrade on next gen. Players look better and the lighting seems improved.
The new announcers give the game a more genuine feel but it still needs work as its buggy.
The new arena/crowd environment is a big upgrade.
Improved puck physics and skating.

Cons- Lots of them
You cannot create a team
No Online Team Play EASHL
No Winter Classic Mode
No GM Connected Mode
No Shootout Mode
No Live the Life Mode
No be a CHL Pro
No be a NHL Pro
Being drafted in the game is automated by the computer
No drafting players in Be A GM Mode
No fantasy draft in Be A GM Mode
No Be A Legend Mode
No Season Mode
No Tournament Mode
No Playoff Mode
No Battle For The Cup
No Creation Zone
No Edit Team Option
No Edit Player Option
No Customize AI
No Build Your AI
No Create A Play
No Custom Music
No Sim to next shift feature
No Mobile App for Hockey Ultimate Team
No offline seasons in Hockey Ultimate Team
No tournaments in Hockey Ultimate Team
Cannot play a friend in Hockey Ultimate Team

Again this game is not worth full price. Being its the only hockey game on the market I will wait until the price drops

Not too much to say. I’ve never felt so conned by a staple sports game franchise in my history playing video games. Too many of the major modes missing. Both online and offline multiplayer modes being a huge one for me. I hear an upcoming patch will address some of these issues, but it’s an absolute crime for them to have not included them from the get go. Physics and AI improvements are solid, and make for some really impressive moments, but need to be balanced out. Hopefully EA will address these issues in later installments. In fact, I can almost guarantee they will since the majority of NHL franchise fans are disappointed based on what I’ve read in the reviews and in the gamer comments. Rated one star for failing to deliver an entire game at launch.

Total Disapointment…, October 2, 2014

This game is complete step back compared to nhl 14. The graphics seems off, I don’t feel like I have controll of the player compared to nhl 14. There’s no way to turn off the vibrate on the controller and it shakes out of your hand everytime you make a turn. They say they’re comming out with 5 on 5 game play, but if its not 6 on 6 including the goalie then I’m going to be really disappointed. The goalie believe it or not is apart of the game EA. I used to have fun playing goalie sometimes. All in all like everyone else I’m disapointed and will NEVER pre-oreder a EA game again. And this is coming from a guy who pretty much played nhl 14 everyday last year.
