Best Gaming Monitor for the Price,

This is a a truly fantastic monitor for the price. A lot of people complain about the color in contrast to an IPS monitor, but you are not going to get IPS color in a gaming monitor for this price. However, if you use the calibrations below, you will come close to truly great color. For gaming, this is the monitor you want at the price you want to pay. World of Warcraft looks fantastic on this monitor. Battlefield 4 again looks fantastic, I’m playing BF4 at 120 FPS and this monitor does not disappoint. And now for something a little newer, let me confirm that Witcher 3 looks as good when it combat on the AOC G2770PQU as it does on my IPS monitor with far less blur.

If you are coming from a 60Hz Monitor then you will not be sorry making the leap to 144Hz. Ubisoft may say you can’t see a difference but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
PROS: Good price point for a solid built monitor CONS: Some units apparently have issues running 144Hz over Displayport(I haven’t tested that with mine) I’ve had this for a little more than a week and have been using it for several hours a day every day and its definitely worth the 5 star rating, I can’t take off a star for it suffering from washed out viewing angles outside of about 30 degrees because its a TN monitor but until there’s an equivalent IPS or PLS monitor with this refresh rate and latency(or lack thereof 😉 ) then it has to remain a 5 in my book and for a 0 monitor it definitely deserves a look. The shipping and packaging was also excellent. Since i’m stationed in Hawaii and was somewhat worried about that state it would arrive in and the box looked like it went through a warzone but inside it was snugged up with some wrapping paper stopping the product box from shifting and smacking around and inside the product box it was wrapped in a shipping bag and cradled in soft foam, there were no dings, cracks, smudges, or dead pixels. Overall i’m very pleased and recommend this highly.

Recently bought this item as a gaming monitor to replace my 7 year old Viewsonic panel. In comparing with my original screen this is night and day. The color and uniformity are amazing. That being said this is definitely a gaming monitor, movies are acceptable at 1080p and viewing photos is just good. I work with Asus ProArt screens and a Macbook pro with a retina screen, these are way better in terms of image quality but they are work/video oriented screens.
Hands down though the AOC monitor cannot be beat in terms of value for a gaming peripheral and the 144Hz refresh rate cannot be beat, the images are just so much clearer. Update: Update 2: |

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY! But seriously it is worth it.,
PROS: Good price point for a solid built monitor
Faux brushed bezels are very print resistant
DVI-D(single link) as well as Displayport
USB hub and faster charging port
1MS lag!
Pivots to accommodate any viewing angle as well as portrait
CONS: Some units apparently have issues running 144Hz over Displayport(I haven’t tested that with mine)
The digital UI for color calibration is in Chinese, however you can use another and calibrize worked well for me http://www.calibrize.com/
Built in speakers are pretty bad, but if your using them then your bad and you should feel bad
Bezels are somewhat on the thick side

Update:
After having the monitor for a few months I have noticed severe LED burn-in, the monitor generally goes to sleep after an hour of inactivity. I am RMAing the unit and will see how the return process goes. For now -1 star on the review.
Update 2:
Did not have to RMA unit, using a burn in fix video the issue has been resolved completely. I am going to monitor the situation for the next few weeks and update my findings. For now I will up it back to a four star review since it was an overnight fix.
