Amazing 1080p Card!,
Verified Purchase(What’s this?)
This review is from: ASUS ROG STRIX Radeon Rx 470 4GB OC Edition AMD Graphics Card with DP 1.4 HDMI 2.0 (STRIX-RX470-O4G-GAMING) (Personal Computers)
I am loving this card! Every single game I play can easily run at 1080p Ultra @ 60FPS. Some of the older titles at even higher frame rates than that. That being said in order to pull that off you do need to go into the Wattman software or the included ASUS Gpu tweak II software and raise the power limit by 50%, Its very easy to do and it keeps the card at a stable 1270Mhz, If you leave the power target as it is the card will throttle down to around 1150mhz so its very important to change that setting. The card is very quiet under load and silent at idle so I have no complaints there. The temps are also very good, My card stays at a steady 50 Celsius at idle (26c Ambient Temp) and at 65c under load.
Pros: Cons As a side note I am currently pairing this with a FX-6300 Clocked in at 4.3Ghz any CPU worse than this will affect your Framerate as my processor already bottlenecks the card in some games I tested.

Most FPS per Dollar,
This review is from: ASUS ROG STRIX Radeon Rx 470 4GB OC Edition AMD Graphics Card with DP 1.4 HDMI 2.0 (STRIX-RX470-O4G-GAMING) (Personal Computers)
This is a great card, provided you get it for under 0. As another review noted, it targets 60c at 1270MHz with a six pin. It likely won’t go much higher than low to mid 1300s, but this really isn’t an issue. Firstly, at this point we’re really just talking about squeezing out a few more FPS. Secondly, it is still one of the highest factory overclocks around with excellent thermals. It is twice as fast as my last card, a GTX 660, and up to 20c cooler. It handles Fallout 4 maxed out with 50+ mods at around 45-60fps at 1080p, and I’m sure most games at this resolution will have similar or better performance. The build quality is great, certainly better than a reference RX 480, and as to be expected from an Asus RoG Strix card. The plastic shroud has a rubbery texture and the whole thing feels strong. The 4 pin fan connector is a bonus.
The RX 480 4gb or GTX 1060 3gb are viable alternatives, but this card holds its own. It runs cooler and uses less power than the RX 480s, and offers 33% more VRAM than the GTX 1060 3gb, which is critical for modding. All in all, the RX 470s seem to offer the most performance for your money. Asus has a solid offering with this RoG Strix.

Purchased two of these cards, they run cool, quite and all my games at 60+FPS at 1080P maxed out. Really cant ask for much more.
Looks like this is the new price/performance king on the market and hopefully we’ll get some bonus performance improvements over the next few years. A small issue i had getting these cards to work on Intel ASUS 1151 ITX H170 motherboard’s Saved 0 vs buying the RX480 8gb strix but only 10-15% less performance with 15-25% less heat and power usage its an easy pick VS’s the RX480 Strix… Both cards wont be playing any 4k gaming either way and even 1440p maxed out you don’t get anywhere near the 60FPS mark. |

Amazing 1080p Card!,
Pros:
– It’s Quiet
– Runs at great temperatures
– Excellent performance for the price
Cons
– Will not keep advertised 1270mhz clock speed out of the box (thought it can be easily fixed with included software)
As a side note I am currently pairing this with a FX-6300 Clocked in at 4.3Ghz any CPU worse than this will affect your Framerate as my processor already bottlenecks the card in some games I tested.
