This review is from: ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1070 AMP! Extreme, ZT-P10700B-10P, 8GB GDDR5 IceStorm Cooling, Metal Wraparound Carbon ExoArmor exterior, Dual-blade EKO Fan, Spectra Lighting, PowerBoost, FREEZE fan stop (Personal Computers)
So I would like to start off by saying I had no plan on getting the ZOTAC card just because I have never purchase from this company and second I was worried I would make a big mistake. So after selling off my EVGA GTX 980Ti with a EK water block my plan was to purchase a gaming laptop and wait for the new PowerColor RED DEVIL Radeon RX 480. I was going to plan and grab two since the price were low on those cards but I kept going to the ZOTAC site looking at those GTX 1070 cards. The beautiful craftsmanship, the size of the cooler, the dual 8-pin connectors and the RGB lighting. Made this card a winner in my book, everything that I wanted was on this card. Worried as I never purchase a ZOTAC graphic card before or let along anything form them. I was hopping I didn’t made a big mistake on my purchase and I tell you what. I didn’t make a mistake. So, I did my order on July 22, 2016 and card was here that Monday of the 25th. What I liked about the card was the massive cooler that it had plus the dual 8 pin power connectors. Owning a Thermaltake Core X9 case i needed to make sure that I had a massive side card to make it look like it belongs there. Not only that I needed to be air cool so the cooler was important as the case normally ran everything water cooled. But I wanted to see how well a kid of that size did on a case like I have right now. In the past I had issues with massive card not being able to get enough air to stay cooled making them to loud and hot. I didn’t wanted to repeat that mistake but this time I have a huge case that should provide enough air flow to cool not only one but two of these cards. So far I like how this card sits on my ASUS Sabertooth X99 motherboard and as you plug this card in. It will be flushed with the shielding of the motherboard but no fair. You can still remove the card by going on the back-plate side and pushing the lever that hold the card in place down and you can safely and easy remove it. The card RGB are amazing too and specially when you have a case like mine you get to enjoy the beauty of those fans and RGB lights on the card. So after running it for a while I decided to test multiple games on it to see how they all perform with ultra to epic settings. Note EPIC settings emulates 4K graphhics. You can see that in games such as Overwatch from Blizzard. As Far as the game titles use to test this card here is a list of them. -Game List- (Test done @ 1080p – 60Hz) LCD LED IPS 25" monitor Pros: Cons: -System Spec- -Benchmark Test- 3DMark TimeSpy Performance / Fire Strike -Card Overclocked Results- -My Final Thoughts- -Update…

Verified Purchase(What’s this?)
This review is for the ZOTAC GTX 1070 AMP! Edition. The dimensions in the product description are incorrect. The correct length of this 2 fan card is closer to 11 3/4 inches. My mid-tower case, a 9 yr old Tagan CS-A Curbic, is 18.9" long ( the length that matters in relation to the card length ) and only has 12" from the back of the case to the HDD cages, allowing me to use this card but it’s rather a tight fit with only about 1/4 to 1/2 inches to spare. If you are planning on getting this card or the AMP EXTREME ( a longer 3 fan card ) be advised to check your case layout before ordering. The outside case dimension is going to need to be around 19"+ unless you have a case specifically designed for newer full size graphics cards ( ie cases from the last 2 yrs or newer ) or have drive cages that can be removed or moved around. Most new cases have listing for the maximum graphic card length. I’m very impressed with this card so far only having it 3 days. Installation was very easy. Many people have commented on how heavy this card is and thought it may damage their motherboards. My experience is if you have a full size ATX MB ( mother board ), and use the correct layout and maximum number of MB stand offs, sag shouldn’t be an issue. My old graphics card HIS RADEON HD 4890 was 2 inches shorter but had the power connectors on the end of the card adding 2" to the card length. This new AMP! card has the power connectors on the top of the card, so you may also want to check your case width to make sure it will fit. Sorry I didn’t measure the height of the card so I’m not sure if the listing here is correct, Amazon shows 4.3" but NewEgg shows 5.83". It’s close to 5" if I remember correctly. My case is 7.6" wide and I didn’t have an issue with the power connectors hitting my 180 mm side case fan. The card requires 2 8 pin power connectors, but it includes 2 adapters for 6 pin connectors. In my case I had dual 4890s in Xfire so I had 4 of the 6 pin connectors to use, so you will need either 4 of the 6 pin, 2 of the 8 pin, or a 8 pin and 2 6 pin connectors; hopefully on different power supply rails. Also as a side note I’d suggest plugging in the power connectors before putting the card into the PCI-E slot. If you put the card in first it requires a good bit of force to plug in the connectors, which are on the part of the graphics card that extends past the edge of the MB and isn’t supported. If you have a Micro-ATX board or don’t have enough mother board stand offs you may damage your mother board if you insert the card before plugging in the power connectors ! You don’t need to use the installation DVD, you can get the drivers and Firestorm software off the website. Someone already mentioned you want the FireStorm_V2.0.0.006E not the Chinese FireStorm_V2.0.0.009C which is the first one listed; scroll down to the correct version. The temperatures of the card are very good. I’m using the default clock and memory speeds. My room temp is 72 F, or 22-23 C and the card idles at desktop at 29-32 C. From what I’ve been able to read off the internet, idle temps of under 40 C are recommended, and closer to 30 C is better. Temps will be based off ambient room temperature, and in my case are 10 C higher than room temperature. The "auto" temperature control may or may not be able to keep the card under 40 C depending on the cooling properties of your case, since it keeps the fans off until higher temperatures are reached. Using the Firestorm app, I went to settings and checked launch at windows startup option. Then I clicked on the advance button for fan control, to set a fan profile on the user define setting window. I changed the default graph and set the graph to 10% fan speed for temperatures of 40 C or less, and left the graph the same for over 40 C. This has the fan set to 10% while on the desktop and keeps my temps at 30 C, and as soon as I start a game it goes to 50% fan speed and adjusts up as temperatures increase. The most demanding game I have is GTA 5. I used nVIDIA GeForce experience software to set the games optimal settings and I’m running at 1920 x 1080. Using a VERY old, ie. 2009, I-5 750 processor I get 60 – 80 FPS, much more enjoyable than my 30 FPS with much lower settings with my old 4890’s. The card stays between 40 to 52 C which keeps the fans at about 50% speed. I can’t say how quiet the fans are since my case fans make more noise than the AMP! does at 100% fan. The Firestorm app worked well to change the lighting effects, and since my case doesn’t have a side window I simply set the STATIC LOGO to off. As far as over clocking goes, I can’t really comment since I don’t require it. All the games I have I run at 1920 x 1080 and frame rates are from 60 to 300 FPS, ie. Diablo 3, CIV 5, etc. If you are going to run at 1080 resolution, I don’t think you are going to need over clocking on any current games to get playable frame…

What I think about the card? Its awesome.
Cons: Might be heavy in some cases and on some motherboards to the point of sagging and might require a GPU bolster or support bracket. Would love a manufacturer that includes a support bracket in their packaging for their heavy cards. Mostly writing this review to inform others who are having issues with the LED settings. Seeing it greyed out perhaps? Apparently the software that came with the box holds the Chinese version or the 2.0 verison of the Firestorm application which doesn’t support the led lighting. If you have Windows Defender on and updated, it will actively try to remove the file every time you open the installer or extract it from the zip folder. Adding it as an exclusion didn’t work so I had to temporarily turn off Windows Defender to install the 2.06E version of Firestorm. * Some overclocking can put this card near if not right there with the GTX 1080.
Cons:
* To heavy for some motherboard if not secured right.
* To long for some cases so make sure you measure your case prior to buying this card.
* Some people may not like the yellow theme on the back of the card if they are working on a theme that may not require to have yellow.

*Card seems to hit so far 2088Mhz but it go down to 2063Mhz during testing so it may be I am not providing enough power so I am currently playing with the settings on the card to see if I can get a higher stable spot.
-My Final Thoughts-
I am very happy with the product so far. It is amazing how cool it stays even during some of my games it will not spin the fans until it gets hot enough. Has worked perfectly with no drivers issues at all and has ran everything I put to it. The card is extremely quiet during heavy loads and can’t say that about previous cards i have owned. Also I wrote to ZOTAC asking them some questions about warranty etc…. and they got to me very fast and with my answers. Very helpful and friendliness. I am pretty happy so far with the support, company and product.
